Contraction takes the viewer through a hellscape following Vicki, a retired dancer faces the most unthinkable loss as her body can no longer perform. Vicki loses her movement, momentum, and stardom, as she experiences a mysterious illness. She needs to learn to experience the world from a new perspective, but her stubbornness makes her journey ever more grueling. Vicki while trying to focus on getting better her life falls to shambles. How do you hold up appearances when your world is crumbling? How can you press on when a thing you loved your whole life now makes you dizzy? Vicky begins her journey as a shadow of a person she once was. How do you continue to hold on to your self when a smoke monster keeps appearing? How do you continue to hold on to yourself when your support system goes missing one by one? How do you hold on to yourself when you start seeing things that may not be there? It is the last step of her illness, that questions her sanity. Vicki goes on the journey within the body horror to fight her own demons at all costs.
